W. J. Brown

W.J. Brown, 85, of Dyersburg, died Monday, March 23, 2020 at Harborview Health Systems of Dyersburg. Born February 13, 1935, he is the son of the late Raymond and Evie Reed Brown. He was a member of Holy Hills Baptist Church. W.J. was retired with the City of Dyersburg Police Department as an investigator and patrolman.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the visitation and funeral service for Mr. Brown will be held for family only. A larger memorial visitation will be held at a later date.

He is survived by four sons, Mark Brown (Christie), Ray Brown (Margo), both of Dyersburg, Will Brown (Melissa Souza) of New Orleans, Rodney Brown (Alan Adkins) of Memphis; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Sue Tirey and one brother, Mac Brown (Diane), both of Dyersburg.

His family will serve as pallbearers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Brown.
