Virginia Spray Wilkerson

Virginia Spray Wilkerson -Born September 1, 1942, went home to be with our Lord January 30, 2024, at her son’s home surrounded by her family.  Virginia was the second of nine children born to J. C. and Maggie Sue Spray in Ripley, Tennessee.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Walter Wilkerson Sr, her adopted daughter, Peggy Wilkerson, her sister Sue Spray Beasley, her brothers, Johnny Spray, Hugh William Spray, and Jerry Lynn Spray.

She is survived by two sons, Walter Wilkerson, Jr (Terry), Mark Wilkerson (Lynn),; her brother, James Spray (Rose), sisters Mary Beasley (Jerry), Nona Broglin, Cheryl Dickhouse, eight nieces, four nephews, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  She was loved by many.

She was a member of Dyersburg First Baptist Church and the Joy Life Group and faithfully attended until her health failed and she was no longer able to attend.

She was a 1960 graduate of Ripley High School and worked for many years at Dyersburg Fabrics.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 2,2024 at 1:00 P.M.   in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home, with her pastor, Reverend Mike Hickman officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Ramm, Chandler Brewer, Dalton Maxedon, Alex Dye, Taylor Wilkerson, and Evan Wilkerson.   Honorary pallbearers will be McKenzie Brewer, Katie Ramm, Allie Grace Wilson and Briley Garrison.
