Ruth Lee Stover

Ruth Lee Wheatley Stover, 93, of Ridgely, died Sunday, April 9, 2023 at her beloved home. Born February 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Gladys Gray Wheatley and Jake Wheatley. Mrs. Stover retired after over 50 years with the Lake County Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service. She loved farm life and was proud to be able to help area farmers. She was a lifelong member of Cunningham United Methodist

Church, but the little Methodist church in the Mooring Community held a very special place in her heart.

On March 29, 1952 in Corinth, MS she married the love of her life, Enloe W. Stover, Jr. who predeceased her on April 25, 2020. Also predeceasing her were two sisters, Iona Wheatley Bullion and Joyce Wheatley Smith, and a brother, Eugene Wheatley.

She leaves two daughters, Martha Stover Whitman (Jack) of Mount Juliet and Ginger Stover Nichols (David) of Ridgely. She leaves four grandchildren: Josh Whitman (Meredith), Candace Whitman, Tyler Nichols (Devon) and Tanner Nichols who gave their Gran many hours of entertainment and precious memories. She leaves two great-grandchildren: Lory Ann Nichols and Lacy Ruth Nichols. She also leaves a niece, Glenda Bullion Davis.

The family wants to acknowledge Mrs. Stover’s caregiver Tina Ward for her devoted care and support.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023 in the Ridgely Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Dr. John Lowrance with interment to follow in New Haven Cemetery.

Tyler Nichols, Tanner Nichols, Josh Whitman and Jack Whitman, Jr. will be serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 11^th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
