Ruth Glynn Keeling 94, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on February 16, 2021, at AHC of Dyersburg. Born December 20, 1926 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Maurice B. Knisel, and the late Marjorie Leon Harness Knisel. Mrs. Keeling loved children and spent countless hours at Jennie Bell School, volunteering to help with activities or whatever the need may be. She was a Girl Scout Leader. She received a Life membership in the Parent Teacher’s Association for her outstanding work with the school. She opened and directed Keeling’s Kiddie Kollege (Day Care Center) for 28 years. She cared for hundreds of children until her retirement.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Tom Perkins with interment to follow at Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Honoring Mrs. Keeling as Pallbearers will be Robert Keeling, Chase Keeling, Derek Morris, James Morris, Sawyer Pruitt, Marty Taylor, Mark Quinton and Dale Dozier.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Jackie Wayne Keeling, (Mary), Johnny Glenn Keeling (Lisa) both of Dyersburg; one daughter, Marlena Gail Phillips (Glen) of Dyersburg; five Grandchildren, Misti Teeter, Robert Keeling (Hailey), Michelle Morris (James), Sydney Tipps (TJay), Sawyer Pruitt; and five Great Grandchildren, Chelsea Parker, Derek Morris, Marisa Morris, Chase Keeling and Spencer Keeling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband, William Jackson Keeling; one daughter, Denise Diane Zaricor; and two brothers, Maurice Knisel and John Knisel.
The family requests memorials be directed to Dyer County Community Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 1055, Dyersburg, TN 38025-1055.
