Robert D. Pruitt

Robert D. Pruitt, 80, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, July 9, 2020, at West Tennessee Health Care Dyersburg.   Born May 1, 1940, he was the son of the late John David and Willie B. Horner Pruitt.  Mr. Pruitt worked at Dyersburg Fabrics for over 30 years and was an advocate for any child in need.  He volunteered at The Children’s Home in Paragould, Arkansas, New Pathway for Children in Melber, Kentucky and was such a wonderful friend to the children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and was an integral part of the lifesaving work happening in Memphis every day.  He was also a member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be Sunday July 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Jim Chamblee, Glenn Burse, and Micah Brinkley. 

The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7pm, Saturday July 11, 2020 at the funeral home.                                   

He is survived by his wife Sandra Pruitt of Dyersburg; two daughters, one brother, and two grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Bill McBride, Roger McBride, Rick Crawford, Shannon Walker, Larry Williams, and Zack Smith will serve as pallbearers. The men of the West Dyersburg Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.
