Richard Baker

May 11, 1953 — August 20, 2023

Dyersburg

Richard Murry Baker, 70, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, August 20,2023 at his residence.  He was born in Dyersburg on May 11, 1953 to the late Joe William and Margaret Ivey Baker.  He was a 1971 graduate of Dyersburg High School and also a graduate and avid fan of LSU. He was  a former President of the Dyersburg Country Club and SPO fraternity.

A true definition of family man and friend. Richard could always be counted on to book a flight or jump in the car to get to his family or friends. The group family texts always ended with “I love you” and “I’m on my way” anytime needed. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in sporting activities or anything they were passionate about. He adored Christie and was always ready to pitch in when needed. He enjoyed social gatherings both at their home & other venues. To know him, truly was to love him. When he was not enjoying family time or watching LSU, he could be found reading, another passion for him. He passed peacefully reading his Kindle.

He was an Estimator at Ford Construction.

Richard was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
