Reba Wood

Reba Jo Wood, 85, of Dyersburg, died Friday, October 4, 2024, at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg. Born October 6, 1938, she is the daughter of the late Johnnie Fred and Nina Manell Rush Wiles. Reba will be remembered as a charming, kind, and inspirational lady admired for her southern etiquette and dedication as a Dental Hygienist with Dr. John Talley and Dr. Stan Young for many years. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, an excellent cook, good listener and loved the beach. Reba was always present at her children and grandchildren’s activities. She was a graduate of University of Tennessee Dental School and an avid UT Vols sports fan. She attended First Baptist Church. 

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. 

She is survived by her children, Nancy Wood Huffaker and husband Tim of Huntsville, AL, David Wood and wife Lori of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; six grandchildren Conner Huffaker, Kathryn Huffaker, Lauren Wood (Stephen Safaeih), Jordyn Wood Davis (Tyler), Kaitlyn Wood Lankes (Colton), Ryan Wood; two great-grandchildren, Maddox Lankes, Myles Davis; nieces and nephews; and her devoted caregiver, Janie Stafford Parker. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joe Mack Wood; and her brother Laron Ross Wiles. 

Her family requests memorials be directed to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
