Nellie Lewis

Nellie Mae Lewis, 82, of Finley, died Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at her residence. Born August 10, 1936, she was the daughter of the late James “Murrow” and Mary Jeanette Riggs Sanderson. She was a member of Junction Church of God and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Junction Church of God officiated by Reverend Kenny Chessor with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 28th from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at the church.

She is survived by two daughters, Pat Mann (Mike) of Dyersburg, Michelle Moody (Stacy) of Finley; one son Neal Lewis (Angela) of Finley; four grandsons, Derek Young, Cory Young, Tyler Lewis, Levi Moody; one sister, Joy Winters of Finley; and one brother, Buddy Sanderson, of Dyersburg.

Don Smith, Mike White, Jimmy Hester, Eric Groenke, George Anderson, and Kevin Beasley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be David Peevyhouse, Billy Patton, Randy Brock, Phillip Bowles and Tim Vestal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Lewis (07/05/92); and two sisters, Brenda Burk and Mardell Sanderson.

The family requests memorials be directed to Junction Church of God, 62 Richwood Road, Finley, TN 38030.
