Murray Willard Blurton, Jr.

Murray W. Blurton, Jr., 73, of Tiptonville, formerly of Dyersburg, died Monday, April 4, 2022 at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Born July 25, 1948, he is the son of the late Murray, Sr. and Ann Lowe Blurton. Murray was the Pastor of Powerhouse Church of God in Tiptonville and an independent financial advisor at Trinity Financial Solutions.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022 in the Dyersburg Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Joseph Ballinger with interment to follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Troy.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 6^th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; two step-daughters, Patty Hopper (Donnie) of Hornbeak, Susie May (Steven) of Brownsville; two step-sons, Robert McCay of Apopka, FL, Joe Roberson (Tammy) of Troy; niece, Sheryl Goodwin of Bryan, TX; nephew, Tom Goodwin (Bibi) of Tampa, FL; six step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia “Pat” Blurton Goodwin and his first wife, Serena Blurton.
