Mike Davis

Michael Ray Davis, 72, of Dyersburg, died Friday, October 16, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a short illness. Born February 8, 1948 in Malvern, Arkansas, he is the son of the late Howard Davis and Bonnie Davis. As a young man, Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Noranda Aluminum and currently worked at C&C Pharmacy making deliveries. When he was not working, Mike found his greatest joy in any activity that involved time with his family.

Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery officiated by Pastor Robin Popplewell and Pastor Jeff Hall.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 19th from 5:00 p.m. til 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Davis; one daughter, Tamara Popplewell (Robin) of Jackson; two sons, Michael Jason Davis (Stephanie), Jared Davis (Candy), both of Dyersburg; two sisters, Vicki Phillips of Bismarck, Arkansas, Maelee Clark (David) of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Davis Popplewell, Madison Davis, Maddox Davis, Molly Davis, Emma Milner, Lydia Milner, Steven Spires (Amanda) and two great-grandchildren, Sawyer Spires and Benjamin Spires.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Howard Davis.

Because he loved them like they were his own sons, Tristan Sipes, Josh Rogers, Jeremy Spence, and Brandon McIntosh will serve as pallbearers. Because he considered them dear friends, Kevin Cook and Lee Pattengill will also serve as pallbearers in addition to his grandson, Davis Popplewell.
