Maxie Louise Rook King, 89, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare – Dyersburg Hospital. Born January 11, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Avery and Katie Butler Rook. She was retired from Dyersburg Fabrics and a member of Northside Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Rick Willis with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 28th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia King Collier, Janice Lynn King, both of Dyersburg; two sons, Robert Allen King of Darlington, SC, Thomas Alvie King of Dyersburg; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Michael King, Josh Towne, T.J. Mosley, David Dunn, Bobby Wilson and Jason Foutch will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Wayne King; three sisters, Christine Rook Palmer, Earnestine Rook King, Margaret Rook Johnson; and one brother, Billy Jean Rook.
