Margaret Ivey Baker

Margaret Ivey Baker, 91, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare – Dyersburg.  Born July 31, 1928, she is the daughter of the late Murry and Ava Hughes Ivey.  She was a case worker at the Unemployment office for many years.  Mrs. Baker was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  “Mawmaw” never missed a grandchild’s or great-grandchild’s school program, sporting event or church program.  She enjoyed reading with them and loved them fiercely.

Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery officiated by Reverend Annetta Camp.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 8^th from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.                                   

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Jo Baker of Dyersburg; her son, Richard Baker (Christie) of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Maurie Baker McCain (Forrest) of Dyersburg, Margo Baker Litzer (Drew) of Bend, OR , Mary Jewels Baker Wilkinson (Dan) of Denver, CO; four great-grandchildren, Mason McCain, Walker McCain, Blakeslee Litzer, Beckett Litzer; and her sister-in-law, Frances Baker Williams of Jackson.   

Steve Carmichael, John Ford, Danny Fowlkes, Forrest McCain, Hugh Todd and Sammy Williams will serve as pallbearers.  Eddie Anderson and Jeff Lay will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe William Baker (8/23/10); one sister, Mary Katherine Wofford; and two brothers, Cleo Ivey and Max Ivey.

The family requests memorials be directed to Dyersburg-Dyer County Union Mission, 213 West Cedar Street, Dyersburg, TN 38024.
