Loyd V. Bateman

Loyd V. Bateman, 89, of Dyersburg, died Friday, December 24, 2021 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg.  Born September 27, 1932, he is the son of the late Vinnie and Julia Margaret King Bateman.  He was a Baptist and an avid fisherman.  Loyd proudly served his country in the National Guard.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Loren Stephens and Bobby Fisher.

The Bateman family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sharon Fisher Bateman; one son, Morgan “Vinnie” Bateman (Donna) of Dyersburg; one sister, Dorothy Elaine B. Wickstrom of Hermantown, Minnesota; one brother, Wayne King Bateman of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Courtney Bateman (who they raised as a daughter), Kaycee Bateman Seaton, Julia Corrine Bateman; and three great-grandchildren, Ty Morgan Seaton, Kullen Dean Seaton and Rhett Tyler Seaton.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death his son, Michael Vincent Bateman; two sisters, Charlotte Ann Bateman Millner, Gertrude B. Barnett; and one brother, Harold Boyd Bateman.
