Sue Hockle “Big Aunt”, 89, of Bartlett, formerly of Dyersburg, died Friday, February 5, 2021 at her residence. Born April 23, 1931 in Dyersburg, she is the daughter of the late Jessie and Daphine Johnson. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. Sue graduated from Dyersburg High School and worked most of her life as a Loan Officer with several banks including First Citizens National Bank.
Graveside funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery officiated by Brother Mac Daniels. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m.
Due to the families concern for the safety of others, face masks and social distancing are required.
She is survived by her sister, Ann Caudle of Traskwood, AR. She also leaves her precious nieces and nephews: Regina Geno (Chuck) of Bartlett, Donna Criswell of Dyersburg, Timmy Caudle (Jan) of Hamilton, GA, Tommy Caudle (Chris) of Traskwood, AR and John Caudle of Knoxville. She is also survived by a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Sue’s loving niece, Regina, and her husband, Chuck, were long time caregivers. She cherished her family and friends and was lovingly call “Big Aunt”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Hockle; her sister, Betty Newell; her great-nephew Cody Caudle; and her special friend Dolphus “Junior” Reasons.
The family requests memorials be directed Dyersburg First Baptist Church.
