Laura Vaughn Roofener

Laura Roofener, 82, of Dyersburg, died Monday, May 6, 2024, at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg.   Born June 6, 1941, she is the daughter  of the late Robert and Mamie Sutton McDonald and Ada Barrett McDonald.  She was a homemaker. Laura enjoyed singing, cooking and especially being with her family.                       

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Brother Calvin Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in Sorrell’s Chapel Cemetery.  

The family will receive visitors Thursday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Jernigan (Al) of Finley; two sons, Ricky Roofener and Don Roofener, both of Dyersburg; two sisters, Linda McDonald of Dyersburg, J. Marie Stephenson of Jackson; four brothers, Harold McDonald, Larry McDonald, both of Halls, Huey McDonald, Henry McDonald, both of Florida; three grandchildren, Donnie Roofener, Amanda Ward, Erica Roofener; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Joe Roofener; four sisters, Kathy Mullinix, Betty Lawson, Juanita Fay Wilson, Lura Smith; and two brothers, Robert McDonald and Richard McDonald.
