Josie Dean

Josie Dean, 76, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her residence. Born September 16, 1944, she is the daughter of the late William Hiram and Carrie Lee Hill Jernigan. She was a retired factory worker and a Baptist.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Mac Daniels with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 31st from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

B.J. Wilson, Bubba Hollis, Billy Yants Steve Gibson, Cody Noel and Terry Brown will serve at pallbearers.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Dean of Dyersburg; one son, Tony Dean of Dyersburg; one brother, Mitchell Jernigan; six grandchildren, Barbara Dean, Anthony Dean, Tyler Dean, Kalya Dean, Brooke Pelfrey, Dillon Beck and twelve great-grandchildren, Hayden Byrd, McKaylah Dean, Kiley Dean, Lucy Dean, Weston Beck, McKinley Beck, Layton Dean, Langston Dean, Braxton Anderson, Brylee Anderson, Camden Davis and Peyton Maners.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Joe Dean; her son, Larry Joe Dean, Jr.; five sisters, Tennie Gipson, Geraldine Rose, Estelle Binkley, Mary Scott, Carrie Wilson; and seven brothers, Lankford Jernigan, John William Jernigan, Junior Jernigan, Miller Jernigan, Billy Jernigan, Odell Jernigan and Eddie Jernigan.
