John Andrew "Andy" Fisher, Jr.

John Andrew “Andy” Fisher, Jr., 61, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare – Dyersburg Hospital. Born August 8, 1957, he was the son of the John Andrew Fisher, Sr. and Charline Sigman Fisher. He was a lifelong Methodist, first serving his home church, Dyersburg First United Methodist Church as Director of the Family Life Center, then becoming a Certified Lay Minister, currently pastoring Friendship United Methodist Church and Elizabeth United Methodist Church. While he served as Director of the Family Life Center, he helped to establish and organize the Upward Program.  Andy was an EMT Paramedic Coordinator with the State of Tennessee and a charter member of Tennessee E.M.S. Educators Association.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in the Sanctuary of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend Ed White and Dr. Phillip Cook.  

Pallbearers will be Stan Young, Joe King, Bart Jowers, Larry Fowlkes, Matthew Brown and Johnny Joyner. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Coley, Clayton Mahan, Patti Lou Parker, Eddie Russell, Justin Robertson, Casey Staron, Hunter Owsley, Nate Paschal and Brett Taylor.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 28^th from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church and Tuesday, January 29^th from 12 noon until 12:45 p.m. at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Perkins Fisher; two sons, John Michael Fisher (Michelle) of Crossville,  Andrew Carrington Fisher of Dyersburg; one grandson, Carson Hunter Fisher of Dyersburg; his sister, Judith Fisher Wolfgang (Jim) of Cayce, KY; nephew, James Wolfgang of Greenville, SC; and his cousins, DeeDee Hall, Eric Flowers (Brenda), Mike Flowers, Tim Sigman (Faye).

The family requests memorials be directed to the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center, Upward Program or the Organ Fund, P.O.
