Jerry Wayne Walker

Jerry Wayne Walker, 76, of Tiptonville, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at his residence.   Born January 26, 1945, he was the son of Ernest Clay and Norma Evelyn Walker. He was a retired firefighter EMT for the City of Dyersburg where he served for 40 years. He was also a police officer in Newbern and Obion.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2021 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home in Dyersburg officiated by Brother Mac Daniels.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marc Johnson, Tim Walker, Tony Yarbro, Jeff Yarbro, Kelly Yarbro, Kenneth Yarbro and the Dyersburg Fire Department. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 13^th beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Leatha Kay Walker; one daughter, Angelia Kay Shawver (Ryan) of Dyersburg; two sons, Tim Walker of Tiptonville, Jerry Wayne Walker, Jr. (Marie) of RoEllen; three brothers, Danny Glen Walker of Newbern, Randy Dale Walker of RoEllen, Ricky Clay Walker of Memphis; six grandchildren, Sarah Michelle Johnson, Marc Anthony Johnson, Jacob Boyd Johnson, Kristen Brooke Walker, Kasie Elizabeth Walker, Robert Wayne Walker; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death two brothers, Bobby Lynn Walker and Ernest Edward Walker.
