Alma Jean Morris, 84, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, November 19, 2020 at AHC Dyersburg. Born May 28, 1936 in Booneville, MS, she is the daughter of the late John Lawrence and Ivie Elizabeth Griskell Moore. She was a retired teacher at Dyersburg Middle School and previously taught at Margaret Newton in Tiptonville. Jean was a member of The Sanctuary United Pentecostal Church.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2020 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Ron Lovins and Reverend Keith Huling with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John R. Morris; one son, Gregory Dale “Gregg” Morris (Marla) of Cullman, AL; three grandsons, Dustin Morris, Josh Morris (Kristen), Adam Morris (Savannah); one granddaughter, Camren Devlin; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Morris, John David Morris, Ty Morris; two sisters, Edith Mackie, Nellie Demonbreun, both of Burbank, IL; and two brothers, David Moore of Senatobia, MS and Larry Moore of Arkabutla, MS.
Josh Morris, Dustin Morris, Adam Morris, John David Morris, Bryan Huling, Reverend Keith Huling, Mickie Moore and Chip Moore will serve as pallbearers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Wilson, Lee Summey, Sue Hardy and four brothers, Gettis Moore, John William Moore, Bilboa Moore and Sanford Moore.
