Jane K. Chapman, 85, of Hopkinsville, KY and formerly of Dyersburg, TN died at 4:21 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Huck officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, TN. Curry Funeral Home is assisting with local arrangements. 

A native of Dyersburg, TN she was born August 11, 1939, the daughter of the late Lear Allison Kirk and Lottie Virginia Moody Kirk. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was an active in her community having served on the Mayor’s Committee, working with flood control, and an active member of the League of Women Voters. She was most proud of her work with the Alhambra, having been a driving force of the major renovations to the Alhambra in the 1980s. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Jerry A. Chapman; and her brother: Jere T. Kirk. 

Survivors include her sons: Michael Allen (Kelley) Chapman of Christian County, KY and David Kirk (Laura) Chapman of Lewisport, KY; her brother: Bob Kirk of Dyersburg, TN; her grandchildren: Justin (Lindsay) Chapman, Nikki (John) Heiserman, Sara (Dave) Whisenant, Beth (Nick) Guier, Kate (Aaron) Smith, Bradley (Hallie) Chapman, and Clay Chapman; and 11 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pennyroyal Arts Council or First United Methodist Church.
