Jackie Foster, Sr.

Jackie Foster, Sr., 76, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, January 26, 2020 at his residence. Born January 23, 1944, he is the son of the late James and Louise Boswell Foster.

Jackie was a follower of Jesus Christ who enjoyed spending time with his son, serving as coach when he played T-ball. He was a local musician who enjoyed playing and singing with several groups. He cooked with the Dyersburg State BBO team for several years in the 1990’s and served as a judge of the “Memphis in May”. Jackie enjoyed camping with friends and four-wheel riding. The greatest joy of his life was spending time with his family and friends. He was employed for over 30 years by Heco Manufacturing.  Mr. Foster proudly serviced his country in the Army National Guard.

Funeral services will be at 10:00, Wednesday, January 29, 2020, in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Gene Stafford. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Dyersburg.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Maudie Foster; his son, Everette Jackie Foster, Jr.; and two grandsons: Colton James Foster and Eli Preston Foster; four step-children: Bobbi Davis Maxwell (Ira), Jerry Lumley, Mona McKay Lilley (Steve) and Jean Mckay Manahan (Rodney); ten grandchildren, and six great grand-children.

Joel Baucom, Duran Johnson, Matt Jahnkow, Mark Boswell, Mike Heathcott, and Ronnie Perry will serve as pallbearers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Larry Foster.
