Helen Eloise Dowdy

Helen E. Dowdy, 83, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at AHC Dyersburg. Born August 14, 1936 in Dyer County, she was retired cashier at Kmart.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Ronnie Turner with interment to follow in Sorrell’s Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 8th from 5 – 7 pm at the funeral home.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Marie Schaffer (George) of Dyersburg; her son, Billy M. Dowdy, Jr. of Dyersburg; two granddaughters, Jennifer Littles (Randy), Emily Dowdy; three great-grandchildren, Finley Grace Dowdy, Hayden Dowdy, Randy B. Littles; and two great-great-grandchildren, Jayden Foster and Remington Foster.

Jerelyn Waller, Randy Littles, Randy B. Littles, Jimmy Littles, William Littles and Jeremy Kirby will serve as pallbearers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy M. Dowdy, Sr., two brothers and her father Robert Blair McKee.
