Fred William Tilley, Sr.

Fred Tilley, Sr., 83, of RoEllen, died Thursday, September 22, 2022 at  Northbrooke Healthcare in Jackson.   Born May 7, 1939, he is the son of the late Chester and Myrtle Tilley.  He was a retired employee of Davis Sausage in RoEllen.  Fred was known as the “Mayor of RoEllen” as he reminded his many friends throughout the years.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2022 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Brother Jacky Goad officiating.

The family will receive visitors beginning at 12 Noon Monday until service time at 2:00 p.m.

He is survived by three daughters Debra Climer of Lexington, Deborah Dickinson (Frank), Evelyn Curtis (Bobby) both of Jackson; one son, George Phillips of Hammond, IN; one sister, Georgia Sterchi of Evansville, IN; two brothers, Clay Tilley, Jerry Tilley, both of RoEllen, eleven grandchildren, Heath Climer, Mark Climer, Heather Heathcott, Brent Brown, Samantha Brown, Conner McCollum, Emma Dickinson, Stephanie Burr, Legend Sipes, Stephen Phillips, Britney Phillips; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a special niece Rosemary Taylor of Halls.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlena Fugett Tilley; one daughter, Shelia Brown; one son, Bo Tilley; and one sister, Lucille Sellers.

The family would like to thank the staff at Northbrooke Healthcare and Aseracare Hospice for the excellent care their Daddy received.
