Gerald Franklin “Frankie” Borden, Jr., 67, of Cordova, formerly of Dyersburg, died Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis. Born May 29, 1956, he is the son of the late Gerald Franklin Borden, Sr.and Jayne Leach Sorrell. Frankie retired as a senior superintendent with Evans General Contractors, based in Atlanta GA. With his vast knowledge and dedication to his work, he was highly admired and respected in his field.
He is a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and a 1974 graduate of Dyersburg High School.
Frankie lived life to the fullest. He loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, motor sports and racing of all types. He also enjoyed estate sales, antiquing and puttering around in his garage. His favorite hobby was landscaping, planting flowers and then relaxing in the backyard by the fireplace. He loved helping others and was always eager to lend a hand. Even the neighborhood children would come to him just to chat or with projects that they needed assistance with. It was not uncommon for the neighbors to come home and find new landscaping, compliments of Frankie. Frankie also had a love for music and at the age of 67 signed up for guitar lessons. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
