Charlotte Castellaw

Charlotte Castellaw, 85, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Oakwood Community Center. Born September 26, 1934, she is the daughter of the late Ed and May Bess Spraggins.  She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.  Charlotte was a former Dyersburg Dyer County Chamber of Commerce Diplomat, where she earned the honor of Diplomat of the Year several times.  She was also a former Jaycette along with volunteering for many other civic organizations.  She was an avid bridge player and so enjoyed her friends just trying to beat her.  She enjoyed traveling and loved taking care of her family most of all. 

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2020 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Mike Hickman with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 15^th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.                          .                                   

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, J.C. Castellaw; one daughter, Lynn Castellaw Hurst (Danny); two sons, Johnny Castellaw (Tabi), Mike Castellaw; all of Dyersburg; grandchildren, Jayme Williamson (Jeremy) of Dyersburg, Kristi Johnson(Justin) of Jackson, Joseph Castellaw and Juli Cait Castellaw, both of Dyersburg; great grandchildren: Madyson Via of Dyersburg,  Owen Johnson, Hallie Johnson of Jackson and A.J. Castellaw; and her brother, Thomas Edward Spraggins (C.J.) of Nashville.    

Billy Bob Burks, Barry Cole, Preston Dickerson, Jeff Freeman, David Hayes, Danny Hurst, Charles Kelly, Rob Peckenpaugh, Bill Reffert, Tom Rosser, Darrell Sells, Mike Smith will serve as pallbearers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Spraggins Laster.

The family requests memorials be directed to Dyersburg First Baptist Church, 220 Masonic Street, Dyersburg, TN  38024.
