Carolyn Sue Moore

Carolyn Sue Moore, 80, of Finley, died Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at her residence.   Born November 15, 1942, she is the daughter of the late Ellis Edward and Lily Lorene Burns Shipley.  She was a longtime member of Junction Church or God.  Sue was the manager of the garden center at Walmart for 13 years.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, January 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Mike Waters with interment to follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Hubert Jones, Vick Burns, Clark Brock, Mark Enochs, Mike White and Randy Golf will be serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. until service time at 12 noon at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Holmes “Homer” Moore; her son Eddie Moore (Debbie) of Dyersburg; sister Delores Jones (Hubert) of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Amber Thurmond Smith (Kenny), Candace Moore, Robert Clark; and two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Hawks and Mason Vestal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tracey Lee Moore; her daughter, Pennie Sue Moore; and her brother Willie ”Bill” C. Shipley.
