Carl O. Bruce

Carl O Bruce, 88, of Dyersburg, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, 18 May 2022 at the TN State Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN. He was born in Dyersburg on 6 July 1933 to the late Ollie & Sarah (Thompson) Bruce.

He was a veteran (Air Force) of the Korean War and was proud to serve his country. After his military service he moved to Sheridan, Wyoming where he was married and raised his family. He owned his own business, Bruce’s Carpet Center. He was a trusting person believing that your word and a hand shake sealed the business deal. When he retired, he moved back to Dyersburg to his beloved hills and hollers.

Carl was preceded in Death by his parents, several brothers and sister, also his wife, Glenita, and son, Rusty. He is survived by a sister, Doris Kidd and daughters Joy (Rick) Troutt of Colorado, Kim Curran of New Mexico, also five grandsons ; Trinity and Lance Troutt , Justin Buchholz , Ryan and Cody Bruce, also 7 great-grandchildren.

No funeral services. Cremation services are under the direction of Curry Funeral Home.
