Betty McWilliams Henderson, 82, of Ripley, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Born January 21, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Bettie Ferguson McWilliams. She was a retired hairdresser and a member of Mary’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley conducted by Reverend Joe Escue, Jr. and Joey Hassell.
She is survived by her husband, Roland Henderson; daughter, Susan Taylor, son, Tom Thum, daughter Beth Ables, son David Henderson, all of Ripley; and grandchildren, Finis Ray, Fletcher Ray, Emmie Howard, Paige Biglane and Dan Henderson; great-grandson, Ward Biglane; sister, Ann Webb (Jackie) of Ripley; two brothers John Robert McWilliams of Burke, VA, and Jerry McWilliams (Shirley) of San Bernardino, CA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Thum; and two brothers, Tommy Joe McWilliams and James Henry McWilliams.
The family requests memorials be directed to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
