Andrea Elizabeth Gilliland of Dyersburg, died September 30, 2019. Born September 23, 1979, she was employed by Lauderdale County Schools as an ELA teacher and was a member of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church. Andrea was a graduate of Lambuth University where she obtained her BA in Communications and a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She had a gift of writing which helped her succeed as a news producer for WBBJ. She had a passion for music, nature, and finding the good in all people. She is loved by a host of family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Jayden Brown of Dyersburg; her parents, Rick and Dianne Gilliland of Dyersburg; two sisters, Valerie Coats (Robert) of Dyersburg, Tammy Brown (Bob) of Savannah; one niece, Susanna Brown of Savannah; four nephews, Ben Brown of Savannah, Robert Hunter Coats, Ross Coats, Henry Coats, all of Dyersburg; and her grandmother, Frances Gilliland of Ripley.
Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2019 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Phillip Jackson.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 4th beginning at 3:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials be directed to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
