Alvin "Buck" Moore

Alvin “Buck” Moore, 92, died Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Dyersburg Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Minglewood Community on June 28, 1932, he is the son of the late James Floyd and Edith Davidson Moore. Mr. Moore proudly served his county the United States Army during the Korean War. Buck retired from Oldberg and Republic Builders as a machine tool and die setter. He was an active member of Finley Pentecostal Church. 

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024, in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Jeremy White. 

 The family will receive visitors Saturday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. 

 Jeff Jones, Keith Jones, Barry Farley, Greg Canada, Keith Tucker, Danny Hurst and Scott Beecham will serve as pallbearers. 

 He is survived by his daughter, Pattye Moore Kelley (Matt) of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, John Dustin Morris, Joshua Moore Morris (Kristen), both of Dyersburg, Joseph Adam Morris (Savannah) of Finley; five great-grandchildren, Camren Devlin, Hannah Morris, John David Morris, Ty Andrew Moore Morris, Lennon Morris and Ann Caroline Morris. 

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Susie Moore; his son, Richard Alvin Moore, his grandson, Gregory Andrew Morris; his great-grandson Jaxon Layne Morris; two sisters, Charlotte Christine Moore, Virginia Moore Pride; and three brothers, James Edgar Moore, Billy Freeman Moore and Thomas Franklin Moore. 

 The family requests memorials be directed to Finley Pentecostal Church, 190 Mimosa Street, Finley, TN 38030.
