Mrs. Margie Newton, 78, of the Fowlkes Community died Friday, June 5, 2009 at her residence. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Dyersburg, TN. Funeral services for Mrs. Newton will be at 1pm, Monday, June 8, 2009 in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Brother Ronnie Turner with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 5-8 pm at Curry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Kelvin Newton, Lynn Newton, Jeff Boyers, Jeremy Newton, Bobby Hatch, Fentress Joslin, Doug Pilkington and Charles Marbry. She is the widow of William A. Newton. She is survived by 1 daughter, Peggy M. Rogers, Dyersburg, TN, 2 Sons, Arthur L. Newton, Ripley, TN and Kelvin Newton, Dyersburg, TN, 1 Sister, Peggy L. Smith, Dyersburg, Tn, 3 brothers, William Pilkington, Covington, TN, Herman W. Pilkington, Dyersburg, TN, Dan Pilkington, Berry AL, 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Patsy Webb, 1 grandson, Rodger Newton, her parents, Laura and Dan Pilkington, 4 sisters and 5 brothers.
