Bessie H. Tucker

Mrs. Bessie H. Tucker, 95, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, August 08, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. A woman of faith and strength, who raised herself and her family amid simple and poor circumstances, sacrificing for her children, her children's children and theirs. At her last, at 95 years of age, she remained a faithful and loving grandmother and true daughter of God. She died peacefully surrounded by family and friends. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 11th at Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Loren Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 pm Monday, August 10th p.m. at the funeral home and beginning at 10am Tuesday, August 11th at Southside Baptist Church. Survivors include her 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Tucker, 1 daughter, Gracie Smith Arnold, 1 son, Marvin L. Smith, her parents, William & Sadie Blankenship Harrell and 1 grandson, Ray Capps. Pallbearers will be the Men at Southside Baptist Church.
