Thomas Kirk

Thomas Kirk, 73, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, August 15, 2009, at his residence. He was a member of Three Oaks Baptist Church, who, in addition to enjoying fishing at Kentucky Lake, loved to barter at "swap-meets" with his friends. Funeral services for Mr. Kirk will be held in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home Monday, August 17, 2009, at 2:00 pm with Reverend Bill Phipps officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 pm Sunday, August 16, 2009, at Curry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Benji Burton, Wesley Turnbo, Joey Junior, Shelby Junior, Anthony Sweat, and Morris Kirk. He is survived by his wife, Martha "Sissy" Kirk of Lenox; five daughters, Charlotte Sweat and husband Jamie of Dyersburg, Gina Kirk Voyles of Friendship, Deborah Permenter of Jackson, Lisa Vestal and husband Duran of Dyersburg, and Melody McGuire and fiancé Matthew Ozment of Dyersburg; four sisters, Emma Jean Franks of Murray, KY, Mary Jane Booker of Dyersburg, Teresa Kirk of Linden, and Janice Kirk of Lenox; and three brothers, Quinton Riley of Dyersburg, Ernest Riley of Murray, KY, and Tony Kirk of Lenox. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Morris Edward Kirk; his son, Tommy Kirk, Jr.; one sister, Shelia Shawver; and three brothers, Hubert Riley, Paul Ed Kirk, and Morris Shelton Kirk.
