Edna Faye McCorkle, 69, of Halls, died Monday, August 31, 2009 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center where she was a resident. Edna was born one of nine children Monday, April 8, 1940 in Lenox, Tennessee to Gladys and Cletus "Snowball" Snow. She was a regular member of the congregation of the Lenox Church of God of Prophecy while living in Lenox. Not only did she love tending to her flower garden, her greatest joy was preparing a delicious home-cooked meal for her extended family. The McCorkle family will receive Edna's friends from five until eight o'clock, Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Curry Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted by Brother Bill Phipps in the chapel of the funeral home at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 3, 2009 with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers for Edna's funeral will be Jerry Hollingsworth, George Hollingsworth, Jerry Hutcherson, Larry D. Owens, Tracy Owens, John F. McCorkle, and Frankie Burkeen. She is survived by two daughters: Linda Belton and husband Tim of Gates, and Jan Carol and husband James of Dyersburg; two sons: Buster McCorkle and wife Linda of Unionville, and Junior Howard and wife Lisa of Newbern; two sisters, Dorothy Allee and husband Franklin of Cloverdale, IN, and Nan Gardner and husband Steven of Green Castle, IN; and four brothers: James A. Snow of Whitesville, TN, Dewayne Snow of Huntington, Donnie Snow of Martin, and Roger D. Snow of Dyersburg. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin McCorkle, her parents Gladys and C.H. "Snowball" Snow, and brothers Terry Lynn Snow and Harry Joe Snow.
