Delta Liles, 64, of Tiptonville, died October 1, 2009, at Jackson-Madison County Regional Hospital. Delta was born on February 16, 1945 in Tiptonville to Grady Allen and Pearl Bivens Ethridge. Delta lived her life in Lake County, where she worked, raised a son, and made friends. In recent years, she was a prolific artist and craftsperson producing framed paintings, ornamental crafts, and her unique cypress-knee Santa figures. She derived great joy and pride from her work and her home. Her lawn was often decorated for the season, as were those of others throughout the area with whom she shared her crafts. She was awarded scores of ribbons in area county fairs for her paintings. She also took great joy and pride in her family. She was a sensitive wife, a doting grandmother, a noble mother, and an obliging aunt. She was a member of the Tiptonville Church of Christ. The Liles family will receive visitors from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, at the Tiptonville Church of Christ. Funeral services for Delta will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the Tiptonville Church of Christ, with Brother Don Reel officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jamey Beal, Gerall Beal, Tony Evans, Jason Stewart, Jeff Stewart, and Bryon Hubbard. Honorary pallbearers are Rob Liles, Steven Liles, Robert Riddle, Gene Lee, Joe Bill Stewart, and Roger Dale Stewart. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dan Liles of Tiptonville; a son, Randall Liles, and wife Susan; one grandchild, Allison Liles all of Newberry, FL; three sisters: Russie Evans and Tennie Stewart of Newbern, and Rachel Stewart of St. Louis, MO; two brothers: Ronnie Ethridge of Texas and Ray Ethridge of Tiptonville. She was preceded in death by her parents: Pearl and Grady Etheridge; two sisters: Katie Evans and Ophelia Beal; and, five brothers: Coy, Joe, Harold, Elbert, and Delbert Ethridge. Stallings, Jr., 82, Drummonds, TN formerly of Memphis, TN died Friday, October 2, 2009 at Methodist Hospital North in Memphis, TN. He was a Baptist and a WWII Army Veteran. Services for Mr. Stallings will be at 3 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2009 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Rev. Verna Seager and Rev. Gary Blake officiating.
