Gladys Alexander Andrews McKeel , 89, of Tiptonville died Monday, July 26, 2010 at The Highlands of Dyersburg. She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church of Tiptonville. She was for many years, president of the United Methodist Women, member of the Church Council, in charge of the church kitchen and flower committee, taught Sunday School, and worked with the youth in MYF. She was a member of Tiptonville Main Street, Friends of the Library, and worked for years as hostess of the American Legion building for Arts and Crafts Fair. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville with Rev. Marita Burkeen officiating. Interment will follow in Tiptonville City Cemetery in Tiptonville. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The McKeel family will receive visitors Wednesday July 28, 2010 from 11 a. m. until service time at the church. Survivors include one daughter, Lynne Andrews Ayers of Tiptonville; one son, Andy Andrews and wife Cheryl of Brentwood, Tn.; six grandchildren, Chris (Kelly) Ayers of Oakridge, David (Whitney) Ayers of Tiptonville, Shannon (Ashley) Ayers of Evansville, In., Blair Andrews (Kevin) Fix of Atlanta, Ga., Jeff (Erin) Andrews of Brentwood, Tn, and Alex Andrews of Nashville, Tn., and four Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands Frank Andrews and Allen McKeel; two infant children; parents, Ryce and Anita Peacock Alexander; and a sister Martha Bryant. Pallbearers will be Michael Moore, W. C. Haynes, Tommy Lovell, Skipper Pierce, Terry Jamison, Larry McCain, Cliff Berry, Jack Haynes, and David Mooring.
