Joe William Baker

Mr. Joe William Baker, age 88, of Dyersburg, TN died Monday, August 23, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Baker was a WWII Navy Sea Bees Veteran and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was an avid sports fan of his granddaughters. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010 Graveside at Fairview Cemetery with Dr. Larry Blakeburn officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Baker family will receive visitors Wednesday, August 25th from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margaret Baker of Dyersburg, 1 daughter Linda Jo Baker of Madison, MS, 1 son Richard Baker and wife Christie of Dyersburg, 2 sisters Mary Sugg Baker of Dyersburg and Teeny Williams of Jackson and 3 granddaughters Maurie Baker, Margaret Baker and Mary Jewels Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Richard and Bessie Lele Stone Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Anderson, Mack Forrester, Stoy Permenter, Stallings Lipford, Danny Fowlkes and R.B. Cannon.
