Johnny Dwayne Proud

Mr. Johnny D. Proud, 57, of Dyersburg died Friday, October 22, 2010 at his residence. He was owner of Touchdown Club, Proud Monuments and Limousine and Halls Memorial Gardens. He was also a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Tennessee and Missouri. Services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, October 25, 2010 in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Scherffius officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Proud family will receive visitors Sunday afternoon from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include two daughters, Ann Willis Proud and Allison Curry Phelps and husband Dustin, both of Dyersburg, his parents John and Geraldine Proud of Newbern, his sister Nita Epperson and husband Ronnie of Newbern and 1 grandson, David Tyler Proud. Pallbearers will be Jerry Sharp, Dustin Phelps, Gerald Ketchum, Tim Dunagan, David Ross, Jerry Maupin, Eric Maupin, and Jerry Willoughby. Family requests memorials be directed to the Community Cancer Fund, PO Box 1080, Dyersburg, TN 38025-1080.
