Daisy Ruth Pope

Mrs. Daisy Ruth Pope, 81, of Dyersburg, TN died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Facility. She was a member of Phillips Street Church of Christ and a retired nurse with over 30 years of service. Services will be Sunday, February 27, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Alvin Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Yorkville Cemetery in Yorkville. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Curry Funeral Home. Survivors include a daughter, Dana Elliott and husband Jeff of Jackson, Tn.; a son, Darwin Pope of Dyersburg; a sister, Reba Hopper of Detroit, Mi.; two brothers, Carmack Bennett of Lenox, Tn. and Arthur Bennett of Dyersburg; and three grandchildren Johnathan Pope, Jacob Pope, and Troy Elliott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Pope; her parents, Jim and Jennie Bennett; a sister, Mae Thurmond; and a brother Ray Bennett. Pallbearers will be Jacob Pope, Tyler Vaughn, Bradley Troxel, Chris Hill, Jack Hill, Joseph Smith and Joshua Butler. The family requests that donations be directed to The Community Cancer Fund, P. O.
