Mr. Clarence Henry Shell, age 70, and his wife, Sue Shell, age 68, of Ridgely died Friday, March 4, 2011 at their residence. They were members of Cottonwood Grove Baptist Church. Clarence was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber after 30 years. Sue was a retired secretary from Lindamood Planting Company in Tiptonville. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary February 24, 2011. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Cottonwood Grove Bapitst Church in Ridgely with Reverend Houston Northcutt, Reverend Jerry Powell and Reverend Bill Oakley officiating. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Tim Smith, Glen Smith, Wade Smith, Cory Kennedy, Jackie Howell, Adam Santiago, Marty Jordan, Dolphus Jordan, Tim Bargery, Ben Jordan, Jason Boswell and Gary Canada, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be retired co-workers from Goodyear. The Shell family will receive visitors from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 7th at the church. Survivors include a daughter, Robin Surratt and husband, Dwayne of Dyersburg, 4 sons, Paul Shell and wife, Melinda of Ridgely, Greg Shell and wife, Teresa of Dyersburg, Chucky Shell of Newbern and Scott Shell and wife, Shawna of Martin, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Sue is survived by a sister, Connie Boswell and husband, Wayne and a sister-in-law Wanda Bargery of Hornbeak. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Walker Delois Smith Shell. Sue was preceded in death by her parents Willard "Pete" and Annie Irene Williams Bargery, a sister, Shirley Canada and a brother, Willard Bargery.
