Ben "Buck" Covey

Mr. Ben "Buck" Covey, 69, of Dyersburg, TN died Friday, March 11, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. Services will be Tuesday March 15, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Curry Funeral Home in Dyersburg with Bro. Terry Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery near the Elbridge Community. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Pruitt Covey of Obion; two sons, Billy Gene Covey of Obion, Tn. and Jimmy Dale Covey also of Obion; one sister, Virgie Rushin of Martin, Tn.; two brothers, Cy Covey and wife Sue of Dyersburg and Horace Covey of Dyersburg; two grandchildren, Chelsea Covey and Savannah Covey of Dyersburg; and a "to be" great-grandchild he had already named "Squirt". He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben "Doc" and Hettie Crouson Covey; and two sisters, Viola Phelan and Helen Pugh. Pallbearers will be Mark Roberson, David Cooper, Jim Nichols, Scott Nichols, Byron Stover, and Blake Oliver. Honorary pallbearer will be Tony Pruitt.
