William "Pop" Simpson

April 15, 1940 — August 10, 2011

Mr. William "Pop" Simpson, 71, of Dyerburg, TN died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at his residence. He was a member of Miston Baptist Church, an Army Veteran and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Funeral services will be at 1pm Friday, August 12, 2011 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Carmen Dennison. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be David Simpson, Steve Chandler, Dickie Watson, David Moore, Danny Baggett and Ricky Baggett. The Simpson family will receive visitors Thursday evening, August 11th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife of 29 years Doris Simpson of Dyersburg, 3 daughters, Melissa Tate of Newbern, Carlene Goldsmith (James) of Dyersburg, Donna Luckett (Gerald) of Aurora, CO, 2 sons, Michael Simpson (Christina) of Newbern, James White (Lisa) of Dyersburg, 2 sisters, Helen Watson of Pulaski, TN, Nancy Prater (Jackie) of Lincoln, NE, 4 brothers, Bennett Simpson (Alene) of Memphis, Harold David Simpson (Linda) of Covington, Charles Simpson (Zetra) of Italy, O.L. Simpson of Pulaski, TN, 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death his son, Raymond Carson White, 2 sisters Shirley Simpson and Betty Chandler, 1 brother Bobby Joe Simpson and his parents William and Lucille Anderson Simpson.
