LOUISE BRYAN ROSS was born in Modesto, California on August 31, 1926 the daughter of the late Elven Jennings and Mattie A. Bryan. On September 21, 1946 she was united in marriage to William Utley Ross, who preceded his wife in death on November 28, 2000. Mrs. Ross was a homemaker and enjoyed a lifetime of service to the communities in which she lived. Mrs. Ross was a former resident of Dyersburg, Tennessee and lived in Savannah, Tennessee for 15 years. She served on the board of the Dyersburg Union Mission in Dyersburg, Tennessee, Jaycettes, Daughters of the American Revolution, Alpha Delta Kappa sorority parent, Sunday School teacher, and scout leader. In Savannah, she was a member of First United Methodist Church, Savannah Book Club, bridge club, and the Daughters of American Revolution. She departed this life on October 20, 2011 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 20 days. Graveside services will be Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg conducted by Dr. Ron Brown. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Pallbearers will be Pat Roberts, Dr. John Talley, Jack Todd, Jere Ozment, Jerry Roberts, Larry Gibson, Richard Carraway, Jack Claiborne and Bill Maxwell. Mrs. Ross is survived by one daughter, Betty Lynn Ross Collier and her husband Kent of Savannah, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Logan Collier and wife Jennifer of Savannah, Tennessee, Betsy Collier Smith and husband Andrew of Oxford, Mississippi, Jason Ross Goodrick of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Linda Louise Preston and husband Jarrett of Charleston, South Carolina, and Billy Larson and wife Lisa of Kansas City, Missouri. 7 great grandchildren, Katie Carole Collier, Ross Allen Collier, Sutherland Ross Smith, Anna Prescott Smith, Collier Elizabeth Smith, Eliza Louise Preston and Alec Preston and Bethany and Lauren Larkins, and one brother, Jim Bryan, of Modesto, California. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, William Bryan Ross, 2 daughters, Linda Louise Ross and Peggy Ross Moore, one brother, Bob Bryan and one grandson, James Ross Goodrick.
