Mrs. Betty Francis Little Davis of Memphis formerly of Dyersburg, age 87 and widow of C.E. Davis, Jr. died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Kirby Pines Estates in Memphis. She was the Chief Operating Office of Marine Transportation Company. She was a member of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Sellers Sunday School class and a member of the Eastern Star. Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Jim Wolfgang. Interment will follow in Bellevernon Cemetery in Friendship. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Collin Davis Fountain, Laughlin Britt Fountain, III, James Terrell Davis, Jr.,Frank Chestley Davis, Jerry Roberts and Scott Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Jim McClure. She is survived by her daughter Darlene Davis Fountain of Memphis, her sons James Terrell Davis, Sr. of Memphis and Frank Chestley Davis and wife Pam of Franklin, TN, 5 granchildren Collin Davis Fountain, Laughlin Britt Fountain, III, James Terrell Davis, Jr., Frank Chestley Davis and Valerie Davis Smith and 4 great-grandchildren Emma Faye Smith, Abby Jane Smith, Ella Rose Smith and Laughlin Britt Fountain, IV. She is also survived by her dear friends Betty Yarbro Rickert who was her Maid of Honor and also Jim McClure who served as the Best Man in their 1948 wedding.
