Virginia D. Climer, 73, of Ridgely died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Climer will be Monday, August 6, 2012 at 1pm Graveside at New Haven Cemetery in Ridgley conducted by Reverend Billy Bates. Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Climer of Ridgely, 4 daughters Debbie Staggs Smith and husband Wilburn, Tina Choate and husband Timmy and Martha Dean and husband Jimmy, all of Ridgely and Patricia McKay and husband Jimmy of Tiptonville, her father, Howard Jacobs and wife Ruth of Dyer, 2 sisters Pattie Prince of Dyersburg and Dina Harris and husband Charles of Trimble, 2 brothers Thomas Joseph (Joe) Jacobs and wife Marie of Covington and Jerry G. Fortner of Dyersburg, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Mary Martha and Issac Pinkie Fortner, 1 sister Cynthia Johnson, 1 brother Larry Fortner and 1 grandchild Timothy Larry Choate, Jr. Pallbearers will be Dakota Choate, Jimmy Lee Dean, II, Timmy Choate, Travis McKay, Jonathan Staggs, Randy Lyles, Stevie Boyd and David Climer.
