James A. "Jim" Jones

James A. "Jim" Jones, 79, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Jones was a former supervisor with Sylvania and retired plant maintenance supervisor at Republic Steel. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and an Army Veteran. Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 27, 2012 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Lynn King. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Jeff Heathcott, II, Casey Henderson, Frank Burnett, Shelton Jones, Steve McDonald, Chuck Barineau and Luke Allmon. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Jones, Donald Jones, George Jeffries, Jim Horner and Tom Kee. The Jones family will receive visitors Thursday, December 27th from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vera Jones, 2 daughters Edye Heathcott and husband Jeff of Dyersburg, Debbie Kirkland and husband Rick of Baton Rouge, LA, 1 sister Carolyn Burnett of Dyersburg, 1 brother R.L. Jones of Newbern, 4 grandchildren, Jeff Heathcott, II, Laura Anne Heathcott Henderson, Casey Kirkland, Georgia Kirkland and 2 great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Kirkland and Rilan Drift Daves.
