Magalene Welch

Magalene Welch, 89, of Bogota, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Dyersburg Manor. She was a member of Bogota Church of Christ and an active member of the Bogota Community Center, She enjoyed watching her family play baseball and softball. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Brother John Huse Robinson and Mr. Todd Hampton. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Stan Welch, Scott Staggs, Ryan Welch, William Pilkenton, Ted Wood, Rob Wood Clay Welch and Matthew Staggs. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Enochs, Mike Pilkenton, Rick Pilkenton, Jerry Pilkenton, Lowell Welch, Wally Childress, Tony Childress, Doug Singleteary and Drew Ross. The Welch family will receive visitors Monday, February 4th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. She is survived by three sons, Lynn Welch and wife Joyce, Jimmy Welch and wife Linda, both of Dyersburg and Randy "Pete" Welch of Bogota, 4 grandchildren, Stan Welch and wife Gina, Amy Staggs and husband Scott, Ryan Welch, Clay Welch, 5 great-grandchildren, Ellen Staggs, Matthew Staggs, Anna Staggs, Taylor Welch, Erin Welch, 1 sister June Wood of Dyersburg and 1 brother Eldred Pilkenton of Bogota. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Herbert S. Welch, 1 sister Pearl Childress, 1 brother James Pilkenton and her parents Elmer and Levie Howie Pilkenton.
