Born Februay 1, 1925 in Wynnburg, TN, Imagene Ward and her identical twin sister Margadene were the 5th and 6th children of William Lester Ward and Nettie Ann Patterson Ward. They attended grammar school in Wynnburg and graduated from Tiptonville High School in 1942. Upon graduation they went to Memphis to attend and graduated from Memphis School of Commerce. Returning home they began working for West Tennessee Soybean Mill. Margadene continued working for the mill until it stopped operation. Imagene became employed in the office of Lake County Implement Company and continued until it was closed. She then worked for Albert Markham and then later Wynnburg Tractor Company. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends to various parts of the United States, shopping trips to Memphis, and checking out Walmart in Dyersburg to see what new items were for purchase. In 1966, she moved to Mt. Juliet and lived in Providence Place Assisted Living, joining her older sister living there, Pauline Curd. She remained there until 2012. In April 2012, she moved to Murfreesboro and lived in Parkview Meadows Assisted Living for 6 months. Declining health necessitated her moving into a nursing home in October, 2012. Imagene died Friday, March 1, 2013 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. She was a member of Tiptonville Church of Christ. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Curry Funeral Home Ridgely Chapel conducted by Brother Don Reel. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Pallbearers will be Greg Johnston, Bill Denman, Bill Haynie, Charles Wallace and Albert Markham. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Stroop, Richard Jaskula, Gene Lee, W.T. Patterson and Toy Dooley. The Ward family will receive friends beginning at 12 Noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. She is survived by a niece, Faye J. Stroop, niece-in-law, Shirley Johnston, great niece, Anne S. Jaskula, great nephews, Steve and Greg Johnston and many cousins in KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lester and Nettie Ann Patterson Ward, 4 sisters, Nolan Johnston, Margadene Ward, Pauline Curd, infant sister Mary Gynell Ward, 1 brother, Aubrey Ward, nephew, C.L.
