Bessie B. Lay Walker

Bessie B. Lay Walker, 80, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at her home. She was born on March 14, 1933 in Bogota, TN and was a retired farmer and landowner. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Walker, twin brother Jessie Lay and her parents Dan and Myrtle Eaton Lay. Funeral services for Mrs. Walker will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Reverend Don Layman officiating. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Jeff Lay, Gary Cantrell, William Lay, Matthew Humphrey, Tucker Humphrey and Justin Humphrey. The Walker family will receive visitors 5:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the funeral home. She is survived her son Noel Gene Walker and wife Debbie of Bogota, 5 step-grandchildren, sister Dorothy Cantrell and son Gary Cantrell, sister in law Rachel Lay and son Jeffery Lay, brother Cleo and Bonnie Lay and daughter Susan Dew, Daniel P. Lay, wife Rubye Lee and daughters Amy Humphrey and Sandra Bennett, sister Leo Hunt, husband S.T. and 2 daughters, Marsha, Laura and son Danny, brother Billy Lay.
