Roy A.Fowler, 77, of Finley, TN died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at his residence. He was a farmer in the Heloise and Bogota communities for many years. Finding that retirement did not fit his active lifestyle, he changed his love of tending plants to Wal-Mart where he worked in the garden center for fifteen years. His love of the outdoors led him to enjoy his hobbies of hunting and fishing. Funeral services for Mr. Fowler will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Independent Free Holiness Church with Brother Calvin Smith conducting the services. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Dyersburg, TN. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Gerald Burns, Larry Bizzle, Billy Jack Goad, Jackie Goad, Mike White and Lloyd Smith. The Fowler family will receive visitors Tuesday, July 9th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Gerene Fowler of Finley; one daughter, Beverly Walker; one son, Larry Fowler; and, one sister, Janice Burns; three grandchildren: Jason Burns, Justin Walker, and Jamie Fowler all of Dyersburg; two step-grandchildren, Beverly Jones of Dyersburg, and Tony Prater of Dodge City, Kansas; and ten great-grandchildren: Sydney Burns, Bryce Burns, Devyn Burns, Haley Walker, Chloe Walker, Jon Ward, Jarred Jones, Dalton Prater, Brayden Prater, and Morgan Prater.
